We live in
one of the country’s greatest food and
wine communities—the San Francisco Bay Area. Many food trends start
here and sweep across the land, changing the way Americans eat and drink.
People from around the world bring their culture and cuisines to us. Our
farmers and markets offer a broad array of fresh produce and exotic ingredients
rarely seen in other parts of the country. Many of the nation’s
top chefs live and work here. Our wines have placed first in the most
respected
wine competitions around the world.
In 1990 we, Suzanne Carreiro and Rita Held, started Carreiro & Held—a
group of independent communication consultants. After Suzanne spent
three years as public relations director at Beringer Blass Wine Estates,
we
added wine communications to our list of specialties. We have been
in the food business — cooking, talking, and writing for a variety
of audiences — for over 20 years.
